Experience France and its wines up close and personal with a 5-day/5-night all-inclusive exploration of the wines
of central France at one of the best prices around. The tour features accommodations in a 200 year-old
townhouse in a medieval French village, authentic French home-cooked meals, daily wine tastings and seminars
in the house’s ancient vaulted cellars, visits to prominent wine makers in Burgundy, Chablis, and Sancerre, as
well as visits to beautiful local chateaux, villages, and other historical and interesting sights.
The tour is designed for the wine-lover in mind--novice or passionate enthusiast--who wishes to share the tour
with a small group of friends or a another companion. The tour offers incredible value, and includes everything,
including lodging, meals, private wine classes, tastings, chauffeured transportation, guide and translation, and of
course, all wines! 4 of the 5 nights will be spent in a small 200 year-old French house* in a medieval village, and
one night in a hotel in Beaune. Whether expert or novice, the tour will have something for everyone who wants to
learn about and enjoy French wines, food, and culture, and experience the “true” France. The tour is reasonably
priced for those on a budget, and for those who wish more personal experiences in their vacations--less like a
tourist and more like a guest. There is a lot planned during the tour, and you will return home with an in-depth
understanding of the French wine regions and the French culture. The tour is ideal for a couple, or 4 persons
who know each other, and is 100% all-inclusive. Similar tours cost much more, are not even close to all-inclusive,
and are often shorter than this tour.
* Please note that one way we are able to provide such great value in this tour is by using our “base house” for 4
of the 5 days on the tour. The house, a former village café, has been renovated and has 3 bedrooms upstairs,
but we have kept it’s rustic charm. There is only one bathroom and one WC downstairs, so guests should be
personal friends. (photos of the house and village below)

Itinerary:
Thursday, April 10: Arrival and First Night
Arrive at the Ferrieres house between 1:00 and 4:00 pm, settle in. Visit the medieval town, and perhaps take in a
coffee at a café on the main street. We have the first wine tasting class on French wines in the cellars before
sitting down to a meal prepared by a local cook.
Friday, April 11: Day 1
Have breakfast of fresh baked croissants, pastries and other French delights before visiting the local village
market. After visiting the local Roman ruins and other local sights, we drive to the eastern end of the Loire Valley
to the famous town of Sancerre. Lunch is at the Café des Artistes. We then visit several prominent winemakers,
and take in the beautiful sights in this hilltop medieval town. If we have time, we stop by the small town of
Chateau Renard where beautiful ancient ruins give us a glimpse into the dark ages. Once back at the house, we
can rest, then meet in the cellar for another wine tasting class focusing on white Burgundies and Champagne!
Dinner follows with wines matched specifically for the foods.
Saturday, April 12: Day 2
After breakfast we leave for Chablis. After we explore this enchanting town, we have lunch in the main square.
We then visit several wineries and vineyards of this small but great part of northern Burgundy. We “sample the
wares” before heading back to Ferrieres. Back in the cellars we taste the wines of the Cote d’Or in preparation
for our trip there tomorrow. A lovely dinner is prepared with some very fine reds from Burgundy.
Sunday, April 13: Day 3
Up early today for the drive to the city of Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy. We visit a prominent winemaker
before lunch at a local bistro. After strolling the streets of this charming small city, we visit with another
winemaker, explore more wine cellars, and learn what makes this region so great. We check into our hotel, and
enjoy some free time before dinner at a fantastic local restaurant in the center of Beaune. Wines from different
appellations are featured at dinner.
Monday, April 14: Day 4
Today we focus on the Cotes de Nuits and the great Grands Crus and Premiers Crus that are produced there.
Some of the top wines in the world come from this area north of Beaune, including Vosne-Romanee, Chambolle-
Musigny, and Gevrey-Chambertin. After lunch in Nuits St. George, we visit some of the local villages and famous
vineyards the area has to offer before returning to Ferrieres. After a late dinner, if anyone still has any energy,
we have a small farewell party!
Tuesday, April 15: Day 5
We have our last breakfast of fresh baked goods from the boulangerie and say our farewells. After packing,
guests have the option of further exploring the town of Ferrieres or getting a lift into the nearby city of Montargis
for some sightseeing, shopping, or to catch the train. Check-out is at 12:00 pm.
