Italian wines from the Sangiovese grape (from Tuscany) and two Sangioveses from California
was the theme for this interesting comparison tasting. Held at an office building downtown for a
large insurance company, we compared and contrasted the wines from both sides of the Atlantic.
The California wines were fair, but did not hold a candle to the really great Tuscan wines that
were presented. The Cacchiano Chianti, Il Macchione Montepulciano, and the Castelgiocondo
were simply stunning and beautiful representatives from this famous region.
