NELSON WINE COMPANY   hosts casual and fun wine tastings,
organizes wine events for private parties, retail and business
promotions, and teaches formal wine education classes in the Los
Angeles area.  With the amount of wines available in the world market
place today, it is almost imperative that individuals interested in wine
taste, compare, and learn about the vast array of styles and producers
out there.  Our goal is to create a relaxed and social atmosphere for
you and your guests - a setting where you may discover new and
interesting wines, and learn a little bit about the places they come
from.*

PETER NELSON  has worked among the vines in France, at the
retail level in Southern California, and hosts wine events and seminars
in the Los Angeles area. His love of wine shows in his informative and
fun presentations. He is a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW), has
credentials at the Court of Master Sommeliers, has taught wine at the
California School of Culinary Arts in Pasadena ("CSCA"), and has
visited every major wine-growing region in California, Italy and France.
He also speaks French and Italian.
NELSON WINE COMPANY
FOR PRIVATE  WINE EVENTS
and wine tastings, Nelson Wine
Company will help organize and host
your wine event, from a fun and
casual party, to a professional and
instructive wine class, to anything in
between.  Mr. Nelson will help select
a theme, choose and locate the best
wines at the best prices (according to
the type of event and budget), and
present the wines in a manner which
suits your event.  The presentation
may range from a simple introduction
of each wine, to a comparative
sensory tasting of the wines, to a
casual "buffet-style" line-up of wines
(where the guests may ask questions
as the wines are poured), to an
informative seminar-style event with
detailed printed materials on the
wines and theme.
FOR RETAIL OR PROFESSIONAL

OUR PHILOSOPHY:
Nelson Wine Company believes that “Wine is the gateway
to culture”.  By culture we mean many things, from the
general sense of improving of the mind, to the appreciation
of the skills and arts of a given people in a particular
place.  We believe that although drinking and tasting wine
is very enjoyable, enlightening, and even intellectual in
and of itself, it also lends itself to opening doors and
fostering understanding and relationships in numerous
other areas of interest, including cuisine (of course),
language, agriculture, local customs, geography, geology,
and even (or especially) art and music.  In the meantime,
simply enjoy a glass, but remember that wine does not
exist in a bubble (unless it's sparkling).

PULIGNY-MONTRACHET, FRANCE
WINE TASTINGS, PRIVATE PARTIES, EVENTS AND CLASSES
THE THEME, STYLE,  PRESENTATION, AND BUDGET  are up to you, and should take into
consideration:  1) the general level of wine knowledge of the guests; 2) the surrounding environment
(cocktail party, sit-down seminar, "buffet-style" tasting, or in conjunction with another event); and 3) the
expectations of the guests.  Once you know your theme, the presentation style, how many guests are
likely to attend and your budget, we will help you determine the number of wines, and how many bottles
of each you may need.  Typically, for an event pouring 6 to 10 individual wines for a group of up to 15
guests, one bottle of each wine is recommended.  A group of 15-30 guests should have 2 bottles of
each, and so on.
